Good News!

Not long back from our appointment with the urology surgeon this morning and so pleased to say that its good news.  The results of the MRI scan were clear so no cancer in the lymph glands or bones or anyone else for that matter.  The cancer is contained in the prostrate which is the best news that we could have hoped for given the amount of cancer cells found in Phil's right prostrate and also that the fact he was graded as a stage 2.  The two options for treatment are either surgery or a 6 week course of radiotherapy and a couple of years of hormone treatment.  There are side affects with both treatments which include incontinence and impotency.  We are not deciding until we see the radiotherapy specialist and obviously the final decision has to be made by Phil.  I am just so relieved that I made him go for a prostrate test on the advice of my sister.  It's a good job it's Phil's beer night because I am certain he will be cracking open a can as soon as he gets back from work and then a few more beers with the Wednesday night boys later on.   Cheers!
