This morning I want to use this forum to thank all of our friends and family for their kind messages of well wishes and offers of support for Phil. We are slightly overwhelmed by them all but realise we are extremely lucky to have such caring folks in our lives.
I don't mind admitting that Phil's diagnosis came a bit of a shock. Phil seems fairly blase about the whole thing but then I never really know what's going on in his head. Okay, everyone knows someone who has had cancer but it always happens to someone else, bit different when its you or one of your own. Phil, without reading the hospital literature, is adamant that he is not going down the surgery route and I tend to agree with him. I, on the other hand, have read the hospital literature, several times over and the surgery option sounds grim. As well as going though the hospital paperwork, I have also been trawling the net in search of anything and everything about prostrate cancer. Some of it makes for alarming reading and I'm not 100% sure I'm doing the right thing but then I remind myself that knowledge is power. I've already joined several cancer forums and banged off a few emails to doctor's that specialise in the treatment of prostrate. In addition I've ordered a couple of books; 'Invasion of the Prostrate Snatches' by Ralph H.Blum and Dr. Mark Schols and 'The Big Scare:Prostrate Cancer and Big Business' by Anthony Horan. Just some light holiday reading!
Since the 'news' things in our house have been a little on the quiet side. I have been listening to my body and have stayed away from the gym. Well that is a little untrue, I have been to the health club for a swim, steam and a shower only because I can't using our bathroom at home, its rank and needs to be sorted. Mostly this week, I have been getting ready for our holiday. The bags are packed, the car hire is booked and we ready to rock and roll. This will be my last posting for a while because as from tomorrow Phil will be taking over and blogging from Tenerife. So I'll see you all next week!

oh yes here you are, i was still checking last years blog! (thanks for the email)
